Cooper Financial Services Group Inc. is proud to support the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation through the annual CIBC Run for the Cure.

Cancer has touched everyone’s lives in one way or another. The Ladies of Cooper Financial are excited to be participating in the 2009 Run for the Cure as members of Team Christine. Team Christine was initially formed in 2005 by Heidi Zealand, of Cooper Financial, in memory of Heidi’s aunt Christine Street.

Christine was an extremely special woman who was told in 1987 that she would have one year to live, and against all odds, managed to survive for over 17 years until she passed away in 2004. Heidi was very fortunate to spend the last year of Chris’s life with her where she lived in England and feels lucky to have known her at all. Their families had been separated due to an adoption and had only reunited in the late 90’s. A description of Chris in three words would be sweet, gentle and selfless.

The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation was established in 1986. The Foundation works year round to fund, support and advocated for:
• Relevant and innovative research,
• Meaningful education and awareness programs,
• Early diagnosis and effective treatment, and
• A positive quality of life of those living with Breast Cancer*.
