Our Team

Carol A. Cooper, CFP, RHU, CLU

Carol is a native of Victoria and a Vic High Grad. Her life has been filled with many challenges and satisfying accomplishments. Carol has been blessed with a wonderful family and many great friends.

Carol first learned the importance of client service at Canada Safeway and after being there 16 years she was recruited to the insurance industry. Upon entering the industry, through ambition and hard work, Carol obtained her designations, CFP, RHU and CLU. She is the owner of two successful companies, Cooper Financial Services Group Inc. established in 1986 and Integrated Benefit Solutions Inc. established 2004. These are independent financial services firms serving the need s of individuals, families and business owners, small and large.

The most important element in succeeding in her insurance career has been caring for people, listening and understanding their needs – creating solutions to solve those needs is the easy part.

In her spare time Carol can be found on the tennis court, working out or in the garden. She is also an avid traveller; she heads to Mexico annually with an ambition to eventually live there in the winter months in her own hacienda.

She has previously completed a Business Administration Diploma at Camosun College with a focus on accounting.

As the child of a military parent Gayle has had the chance to live all across Canada and has a natural love for travelling. She took her first adventure at the age of 15 when she went to Quebec on an exchange program since then she has travelled in the United States and Europe. Gayle also has a background in theatre, she spent most of her younger years on the stage singing and acting. Immediately out of high school she pursued a theatre diploma. Her other passions include travelling, skiing, reading and spending time with her family.

Connie has lived in Victoria her entire life and graduated from Belmont Sr. Secondary School in 1993. Connie joined the Cooper Financial team in 1998 in an administrative position, working her way up to office manager. In 2006, Connie decided to take a 2 year absence and took on a completely different role as an On-site Office Manager for a local electrical contractor, building the new Ocean, Earth and Atmospheric Science Building at the University of Victoria. In August, Connie has rejoined the Cooper Financial team, refreshed and ready to take on some new and exciting challenges.

In her free time Connie volunteers with the Girl Guides of Canada as a Sparks leader. She also enjoys fishing, camping, travelling, shopping and spending time with her 3 energetic nieces.

Heidi grew up on the North Island and moved to Victoria in 2001. She has spent the last 5 years working in the financial industry, specifically in finance, investments and insurance. Heidi completed her Bachelor of Commerce at Royal Roads University in 2008 and has since completed the insurance license and CFP program. Her passion in the industry is building comprehensive financial plans and helping people attain their personal financial goals.

Since growing up on the North Island, Heidi loves to travel back as often as possible to enjoy the remote west coast wilderness and spend time with her family. She also loves to travel abroad and spent a year working for a finance company in the UK and traveling throughout Europe. Heidi has recently started a charitable organization with a friend called “CharityCakes” that bakes and decorates cakes for charity.

Stephanie is a child of a Military family and grew up in various Eastern and Central Canadian Armed Forces Bases graduating with a Business Administration Diploma in Ontario with a Finance Major. Her Business management expertise served her well especially as an Operations Manager of a National Customer Service evaluation firm in Toronto. This gave her unique insight into the power of being passionate and dedicated to customer satisfaction that listen to and provide their customers with exceptional service, fostering loyal client relationships. Stephanie moved to Victoria with her young son in 1992 and was an Art’s & Antiques business partner with her husband. She was instrumental in coordinating “Antique’s Roadshow” promotional fundraising events for community centers and schools. As a business woman she sought the advice of Carol Cooper in 2005 for individual insurance. Carol at this time introduced her to the Private Health Service Plan (PHSP). For Stephanie this was an “ah-ha” moment, realizing that small business owners need to know this “secret income Tax provision” which allows business owners to deduct from earnings, Health, Medical and Dental expenses. Soon Stephanie joined Carol’s firm in this quest to market the PHSP and under Carol’s mentoring, successfully trained and qualified as an Insurance Agent in 2006. Subsequently she has built many professional relationships with Victoria’s business owners specializing in sales of Employee Health & Dental benefits and Individual Insurance. Her passions are spending time with her two teenage children as a single mom, walking her Standard Poodle “Frankie” through Victoria’s beautiful forests and acting as the President of her Strata council. Her other interests which she makes time for are world affairs, commerce, ancient history and art.
